Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Carlo Ancelotti will once again become a candidate to coach Brazil’s national team if Inter legend Ronaldo wins elections to become the country’s football association President.

New speculations about Ancelotti becoming the next coach of the Brazil national team emerge, as former striker Ronaldo has announced that he will run for the CBF presidency.

Ronaldo, a former Inter and Milan striker with 58 goals in 88 Serie A matches, confirmed his candidacy on Tuesday.

“We have the best players, we have [Vinicius Jr], Neymar, Rodrygo, Estevao, Endrick… we have a lot of talent, how can we not play well?” Ronaldo told Globo Esporte, as quoted by BBC.

“We have to change this dynamic. Brazil has to be a protagonist in the World Cup, in the Copa America, it can’t miss out on the Olympics. It’s unacceptable for the talent we have.”

Elections will occur between March 2025 and 2026, and according to Gazzetta, the sooner Brazil elect a new FA President, the more chances they’ll have to hire Ancelotti.

The Italian tactician already rejected an offer from the Brazilian association to extend his contract with Real Madrid until 2026 last year.

Gazzetta notes that the timing is not ideal for Brazil, even if Ronaldo wins the election next year. However, the ex-striker is on excellent terms with Real Madrid President Florentino Perez, which could play a key role in negotiations between the parties.
