Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola and his Fulham counterpart Marco Silva will be among the leading candidates to succeed Ange Postecoglou if Tottenham Hotspur decide to sack him, according to the Telegraph.

Spurs lost their 15th Premier League game of 2024-25 yesterday at Craven Cottage and could struggle to qualify for Europe next season from the look of things.

They will take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter-final of the Europa League next month, and Postecoglou could struggle to hold on to his job if Tottenham get knocked out of the competition.

Injuries have not helped the North London club so far this season, but they have no excuse for the poor results and the manager could soon be made to pay for it with his job.

Bournemouth want to extend Iraola’s contract before it expires at the end of next season, but it is believed that he would be interested in the prospect of taking over at Tottenham were he to be presented with such an opportunity.

Doubts have also been cast on Silva’s future at Fulham past this season, and he could be available for the Spurs job should he part ways with the Cottagers.

The Portuguese and Spaniard have both impressed in their respective jobs and would fancy their chances of taking Tottenham to the next level after several years of mediocre campaigns.

The Lilywhites last won a trophy in 2008 and are desperate to end the drought after 17 years, but they need to get their next managerial appointment right if they decide to part ways with Postecoglou before next season.

Juande Ramos was the last manager to win a trophy with Spurs, with Harry Redknapp, Andre Villas-Boas, Tim Sherwood, Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte all failing during their stints.
