FC Barcelona will reportedly be looking to strengthen their attack before the start of the next season, and they have already been linked with several high-profile names for this purpose, including the likes of Luis Diaz, Alejandro Garnacho, Rafael Leao, and Nico Williams.

However, one of the more surprising names that they are being linked with is that of their former superstar, Neymar Junior.

The Brazilian star returned to his boyhood club, Santos, in the last winter transfer window, but speculation of a possible move to the Blaugrana club is already rife.

Some reports on the subject claim the Catalans have already set a condition for his desired return to their team, as he wants to return to the top level of football to be able to play in the next year’s World Cup.

Meanwhile, as SPORT has reported, the Brazilian agent Andre Cury has also confirmed the speculation that Neymar is hopeful of a return to Barcelona and his signing would also be feasible. Appearing in a TV interview, the agent, who was involved in the superstar’s move from Santos to the Catalan club back in 2013, said:

“Neymar will be a free agent in July and is regaining his fitness in Brazil. If there is any chance to return to Barcelona, he will do so with great pleasure, I’m sure of it.”

However, he also recognised that this move would ultimately depend on the Blaugranes: “If the club backs his signing and decides to go for him, it could happen.”

When asked whether Deco, Barcelona’s Sporting Director, is interested in Neymar, Cury responded: “Everyone likes Neymar; it’s impossible for someone not to. He has two or three years of football left.”

Andre Cury is one of the most important individuals in Brazilian football, and thus, his opinion carries a lot of weight. But as he himself said, it remains to be seen whether Barcelona will want to bring a player who is clearly declining, back into their team, irrespective of the star power and the nostalgia that he enjoys.
