Arda Güler set to fight for his place at Real Madrid – a loan move is off the table | OneFootball

Arda Güler’s 84 minutes played against Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey last night were the first action the Turkish youngster had gotten in five matches.

It is fair to say that after the 20-year-old’s rapid rise last season, progress has stagnated for the young midfielder, leading many to believe a loan move was inevitable.

As per Relevo however, Güler is set to stay at Real Madrid and fight for his place. Reports indicate that if the Turkish star can’t get more game time then he will be looking for a transfer rather than a loan.

It’s always a difficult prospect to get game time in a stacked squad like the one available to Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, but with the injuries the club have faced this season, opportunities should have been available.

There will be plenty of fixture congestion over the coming months, especially with the addition of the Club World Cup in the summer, meaning Güler will hopefully get the chance to prove his worth.

If that’s not the case, then you can expect many clubs all over Europe to be in the race to pick up the 20-year-old.
