Arda Güler’s grandfather speaks out on Real Madrid future | OneFootball

The grandfather of Real Madrid star Arda Güler has on Monday provided an update on the player’s future in Spain’s capital.

This, of course, comes amid ongoing speculation surrounding a potential future exit for the Turk.

Midfielder Güler, for his part, is in the midst of something of a hit-and-miss opening to the new campaign.

Though he has enjoyed an uptick in game-time compared to his debut season, the 19-year-old is still evidently some way down the pecking order when it comes to the first-choice options of manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Murmurs, in turn, have long spread in the media that Güler could be on the move in the near future, in a bid to secure more regular playing time.

If the latest comments on the part of the youngster’s grandfather are anything to go by, however, then no such move will be forthcoming any time soon.

Drawn on Güler’s future on Monday, in quotes cited by Diario AS, Mehmet Ali Güler assured:

“Real Madrid will not let Arda Güler leave. He will stay until he completes his 6th year, after that, we don’t know what will happen.”
