Liverpool boss has been on the touchline for two matches since the draw with Everton
Arne Slot has accepted an FA charge following his red card at the end of the Merseyside derby.
The Liverpool boss was sent off by Michael Oliver along with his assistant Sipke Hulshoff after the 2-2 draw with Everton earlier this month.
In chaotic scenes following the full-time whistle, Curtis Jones and Abdoulaye Doucoure were both also shown red cards for their roles in sparking a brawl between both sets of players.
Slot and Hulshoff were both charged with acting in an “improper manner and/or used insulting and/or abusive words and/or behaviour” towards the officials, and the pair have accepted those charges.
The matter is now with the FA, with a decision yet to be made on potential punishment. It remains to be seen whether a final verdict is reached before Liverpool travel to face Manchester City on Sunday.
Liverpool have also accepted a charge, in response to the clash between the two camps after the match.
An FA statement last week said: “It is alleged that both clubs failed to ensure their players and/or technical area occupants did not behave in an improper and/or provocative way following the final whistle.”
Slot has been on the touchline for Liverpool’s two matches since the derby, a win at home to Wolves and Wednesday night’s draw with Aston Villa.
Should Slot be handed a ban along with Hulshoff, it is expected that former Everton defender Johnny Heitinga will lead the side.
