Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that Curtis Jones will miss at least Saturday's Premier League meeting with Ipswich due to injury.
Jones was forced off at half-time of Liverpool's midweek Champions League victory over Lille, and while Slot isn't expecting the midfielder to be sidelined long-term, this weekend's game will come too soon for him.
"Mostly not a good sign," said Slot when asked about the 23-year-old's fitness in his pre-match press conference.
"He won't be available tomorrow and we will have to wait and see. Not expecting months but let's see for PSV and Bournemouth."
But there was better news regarding the fitness of Ibrahima Konaté, with Slot confirming that the defender's return from injury is being managed carefully.
"You have seen how we managed that [injury]," said Slot.
"Jarell [Quansah] played against Lille and Accrington. That is a bit because he [Konaté] has some pain, we don't exaggerate it but he feels it a bit.
"It's safe for him to play but you're aware of playing someone every three days when they have been out for a bit. He is not in a moment where he can play three times a week."
Liverpool will be hoping to extend their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League when they face relegation threatened Ipswich at Anfield tomorrow.
