It appears Kounde has emerged as a top defensive target for coach Mikel Arteta, who is keen on reinforcing his options in the defensive unit.

In line with Arteta’s desire, Arsenal are ready to cough up €75 million for the services of the Barcelona defender.

Arsenal’s interest in Kounde comes on the back of his recent performances at Barcelona. But most importantly, the Frenchman brings speed and versatility to the table, which could be useful for Arteta.

Will Barcelona sanction Kounde’s exit?

Kounde’s potential move to Arsenal will depend on various factors, including when exactly the Gunners are planning to table an offer.

Recent reports suggest Barcelona have decided not to sell any new players next month, meaning a January move has already been ruled out.

As far as the summer transfer window is concerned, Barcelona could be tempted to sell Kounde considering the €75 million inflow, which could go a long way in balancing the club’s balance sheet.

For now, though, both parties will wait for the season to end and see if Kounde can continue his excellent performances in La Liga and Champions League.
