Arsene Wenger has given Arsenal a "generous" chance of becoming Premier League champions this season, despite falling 11 points behind leaders Liverpool.
The Gunners were buoyed by Liverpool dropping points against Everton and Aston Villa in recent weeks, only to then suffer a surprise loss themselves at the hands of West Ham United on Saturday.
Arne Slot's Reds then passed their own test against Manchester City with flying colours to open up a double-digit cushion at the top of the table, albeit having played a game more.
The weekend results have seen most people write off Arsenal's chances, effectively crowning Liverpool champions elect with three months of the season to play. The odds are further stacked against Arsenal given the injury absences that Mikel Arteta is having to contend with.
Wenger was a guest in beIN SPORTS on Sunday and said that a win for Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium would equate in his mind to an "80%" chance of going all the way.
"You have to keep hope!" he said of Arsenal's prospects. "A 20% chance. Maybe I'm being generous."

Having fallen agonisingly short in 2022/23, when they led the league until a late collapse in April, and pushed the title race to the final day in 2023/24, Arsenal are seeking to end a 21-year wait to take the Premier League trophy back to north London for the first time since 2004.
But Wenger has first hand experience of reeling in a runaway leader. His first Premier League title in 1997/98 required the Gunners to close a similar sized gap to Manchester United.
Arsenal's current title drought is the longest the club has ever had to endure since claiming their first in 1931. After dominating that decade, there were ten years between titles won in 1938 and 1948. There was then an 18-year gap between 1953's triumph and 1971, before another 18 years to 1989.
