Aston Villa Monitoring Vlahovic Situation as Juventus Set Summer Price

As the season moves into its decisive stretch, attention at Aston Villa is shifting beyond the pitch to the upcoming transfer window. With Champions League qualification in sight and Unai Emery’s project continuing to gain momentum, the club’s interest in Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović signals their growing ambition.

According to TEAMtalk, Juventus are preparing for life without their Serbian forward. “Juventus have asked Tudor to maximise Vlahovic’s performances in the final part of the season, to increase his market value, which has declined in recent months.” That push for form is clearly being driven by a broader goal — a summer sale.

Price Set and Suitors Gather

The price, in the current market, is intriguing. “Sources state that Juventus are keen to sell Vlahovic for around €40m (£33.5m, $43.3m) and several Premier League clubs are watching with interest.” For a player who once commanded close to £70m and was courted by Europe’s elite, that valuation may tempt more than a few sporting directors into picking up the phone.

Arsenal, long linked with Vlahović, are no longer in the frame. TEAMtalk reports that the Gunners have “cooled their interest,” shifting focus to Viktor Gyökeres and Alexander Isak. This development leaves the path clearer for Aston Villa — a club positioning itself as one of the Premier League’s most attractive destinations for elite-level players just outside the traditional ‘big six’.

Villa in Prime Position

Villa’s interest is no longer speculative. They “have closely monitored the striker in recent weeks, as previously reported, and are now considering approaching the player’s entourage to explore the conditions for a possible deal.” That level of engagement suggests serious intent — and with European football nearly assured next season, the timing couldn’t be better.

Competition will be stiff. Manchester United, Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are all watching. Barça’s interest, however, is conditional, with TEAMtalk explaining that their ability to fund a move “may depend on how much cash they can generate from player sales.”

Vlahović’s season has been mixed — nine Serie A goals and 14 in all competitions — but Juventus’ stylistic struggles and managerial changes haven’t helped. Despite dropping behind Randal Kolo Muani in the pecking order, he remains a forward with physical presence, intelligent movement and a proven goal-scoring touch when given the right service.

Opportunity for Revival

Tudor is only contracted until the summer and, while an admirer of Vlahović, holds no sway over the club’s long-term transfer planning. That opens the door for Vlahović to be showcased in the closing weeks of the season and the Club World Cup, with Juventus hoping improved performances can spark a bidding war.

Still, there is a sense — per TEAMtalk — that “sources suggest that he is ready for a new challenge elsewhere.” Villa, as things stand, are well placed to provide it.

Vlahović could directly fill the void left by Jhon Durán, who departed in January, and serve as both competition and cover for Ollie Watkins. More importantly, he would offer Emery an alternate tactical option — a more traditional No.9 with European pedigree.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis

The prospect of Dušan Vlahović leading the line at Villa Park is more than just exciting — it feels like a statement. A striker of his calibre and age, available at a relative bargain, fits the club’s vision perfectly.

There’s no question that Watkins remains first choice, and rightly so, but elite squads require depth and variety. Vlahović’s blend of size, hold-up play, and Champions League experience would elevate the attack, especially with Villa likely to play more games across multiple fronts next season.

The fee, compared to recent market trends, is favourable. If Villa secure Champions League football, they would hold an edge over Tottenham and even United, who continue to grapple with uncertainty behind the scenes.

Whether Vlahović wants the Premier League challenge or is drawn to a rebuilding Barcelona remains to be seen. But Villa fans have every reason to hope — and believe — that their club can be at the centre of this summer’s most intriguing striker chase.
