Atlético dealt injury blow ahead of Real Madrid 2nd leg | OneFootball

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have on Sunday been dealt a fresh blow on the personnel front.

This comes owing to developments in the buildup to the club’s meeting with Getafe.

Upon Diego Simeone’s XI of players being unveiled to take to the pitch at the Estadio Coliseum, front and centre was defender Clément Lenglet.

Whilst Atlético’s stars were put through their paces in the warm-up, however, Lenglet pulled up suddenly with a fitness issue.

The on-loan Barcelona man, in turn, was quickly withdrawn from the Rojiblancos’ line-up, replaced at the heart of defence by José María Giménez.

It now remains to be seen if Lenglet is facing up to any kind of significant spell on the sidelines.

Just days out from the 2nd leg of the Champions League Last-16 tie between Atlético and arch rivals Real Madrid, though, the Frenchman’s status appears to have been thrown up in the air.
