With the transfer window in Brazil set to come to a close later tonight, Barcelona starlet Vitor Roque is all set to secure a transfer to Palmeiras imminently.

The 20-year-old striker, on loan at Real Betis, will return to his homeland after a difficult year in Spain, having failed to make an impact at Barça or Betis.

The Blaugrana will receive a transfer fee of €25 million for 80% of the player’s economic rights, in addition to another €5 million in variables.

However, Barça also had to compensate Real Betis for them to agree to terminate Roque’s loan contract.

Barcelona will send a youth player to Real Betis in the summer

One of the ways Barcelona are compensating Real Betis is by ceding 30% of Ez Abde’s rights. The two clubs shared 50% of the winger’s economic rights following his transfer to Andalusia in 2023, and the Verdiblancos will now have 80% ownership of the player.

In addition, Gerard Romero now reports that Barcelona have also agreed to let a youth player join Real Betis in the summer as part of the Vitor Roque deal.

It must be noted that the Seville-based outfit had requested an option to sign Pau Victor on loan in the summer with a permanent buy clause.

Romero’s update does not mention whether it will be Victor or a different player who will join Real Betis from Barça in the summer. Nor does it clarify as to whether it will be on loan or a permanent transfer.

But he mentions that the 23-year-old attacker continues to remain the Andalusian outfit’s preferred option.

After all, Manuel Pellegrini’s side had tried to sign Victor during the January transfer window as well, when he was facing an uncertain period due to registration issues.

The young forward has barely featured under Hansi Flick since the turn of the year, with other players like Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and Dani Olmo ahead of him in the pecking order.

So, it will be interesting to see whether Barcelona are willing to let him leave come summer, especially with the club planning to sign another left-winger.
