The FC Barcelona attacking trident of Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, and Lamine Yamal has been performing at a very high level this season. The three of them have been shining the most brightly since the arrival of Hansi Flick on the bench, and this trio is already presenting its credentials as one of the most lethal in Europe.

However, the Blaugrana team’s attack is still lacking in depth, and this problem was there for everyone to see as they faced Real Sociedad right before the international break. Barcelona were without Lamine Yamal in this game and really struggled to put up an attacking show in this game.

In such a context, the Blaugranes are looking to bring other high-profile names to their team, and two such names that have been linked with them recently are Rafael Leao and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

However, SPORT now reports that the Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen is another forward in whom Barcelona are interested. The Dutchman wants to leave Dortmund and Bundesliga and is looking to embark on the next chapter of his career in the Premier League or La Liga.

His contract with the German club will have only one year left at the end of this season, and thus his incorporation might not be too hard for the Catalans, who had already been interested in him when Ronald Koeman was the coach.

This season he has not been a fixed starter for Dortmund and is also willing to take a secondary role at the Blaugrana club. He can play both as a winger and a forward, and this versatility, along with his finishing ability, makes him an interesting option even though he has never exploded to reach the highest levels in Europe.

Thus, while Barcelona’s priority is to sign a truly world-class winger, Malen can still be an interesting option for them who will not be too averse to the idea of sitting on the bench.
