La Liga giants Barcelona are expected to be without the services of a leading member of the club’s backline for the coming three weeks.
That’s according to Blaugrana insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS, who points towards Jules Koundé as the player in question.
Defender Koundé of course set alarm bells sounding across the Barcelona fanbase late yesterday evening.
This came after the former Sevilla man was forced into a premature departure from the club’s Champions League semi-final first-leg meeting with Inter Milan.
Late in the first-half in Catalunya’s capital, Koundé went to ground off the ball clutching his hamstring, before limping out of proceedings.
An ensuing round of tests carried out on Thursday morning revealed that the France international had suffered ‘a distal injury to the biceps femoris of the left thigh’.
And according to the aforementioned Javier Miguel, as much is expected to keep Koundé sidelined for a considerable spell:
‘The defender has a distal hamstring injury in his left leg that will keep him out for at least three weeks. This means, in all that he will almost certainly miss the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Inter in Milan, as well as the La Liga Clásico (on May 11th).’
