Spanish news outlet Fichajes has reported that Barcelona are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old Matias Soule from AS Roma and want to sign the wide attacker in the summer transfer window. It is not a hidden fact that the Catalan club are in need of a wide attacker and are looking at the right profiles in the transfer market.
Barcelona do not have a natural left-winger as Ansu Fati has completely lost his touch and has fallen out of favour under Hansi Flick. Raphinha is playing at the left-wing position and is performing really well. However, he is not a natural winger. Moreover, Ferran Torres has found his form in the striker’s position, but his long-term future remains uncertain. Lamine Yamal, the 17-year-old has had to carry on playing in the right-wing positions and has no backup for him.
The Argentine winger is known for his creativity and flair. His playing style is marked by exceptional dribbling skills, allowing him to weave through defenses with ease. Soule’s vision on the pitch is top-notch, often delivering through-balls that slice open opposition defenses. He’s not just a creator; his finishing has improved significantly, proving he can be a goal threat as well. His work rate is commendable, contributing both offensively and defensively. The traits of creativity, hard work, and goal-scoring ability make him a joy to watch and a valuable asset.

Matias Soule has scored 2 goals in 14 matches so far in the Serie A 2024/2025 season. Overall, his goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.25. Moreover, Soule’s total G/A (goals + assists) is 2 for this season. His goal involvement equates to 0.25 per 90 minutes. His non-penalty xG per 90 minutes is 0.20.
He has taken 11 shots in 14 matches so far in the Serie A 2024/2025 season. Of the 11 shots, 5 shots were on target, and the other 6 shots were off target. That means that his shooting accuracy is 45.45%. He scores a goal for every 11.00 shots he takes and takes 1.53 shots per 90 minutes on the pitch. So, he definitely can be a good backup to Yamal.
Barcelona won’t have to pay a big amount to sign Soule in the upcoming summer transfer window. So, we have to wait and watch what happens finally regarding this saga.
