Hiroki Ito of Bayern Munchen has suffered a major foot injury that will keep him out of both Champions League clashes against Inter, further adding to the German outfit’s defensive absences.
Ito replaced his teammate Raphael Guerreiro during his side’s 3-2 win over St Pauli on Saturday but limped out of the pitch shortly after, as he suffered damage to a previously broken foot.

Bayern later issued an official statement confirming that the Japanese defender had suffered a new metatarsal fracture, which means he will be sidelined until the end of the season.
“Hiroki Ito has suffered a recurrence of a fracture in his right metatarsal, a scan by the FC Bayern medical team has confirmed,” the club’s note reads.
Ito becomes the third defender that coach Vincent Kompany has lost to injury, following Alphonso Davies and Dayot Upamecano, who are also set to miss the Champions League quarter-finals against the Nerazzurri.

Davies recently sustained a torn cruciate ligament during the international break, while Upamecano was diagnosed with loose bodies in his left knee.
Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is also in doubt for the European tie, as he is still recovering from a calf injury.
