Lea SchĂĽller hit a hat-trick to inspire Bayern Munich to a 4-2 DFB-Pokal Frauen final win over Werder Bremen, completing a first-ever domestic double for the German giants.
Scorers: Schüller 6', 65', 79', Simon 30'; Dieckmann 45+1', Mühlhaus 90+4'
Bayern got off to the dream start in Cologne, taking the lead after just six minutes. Giulia Gwinn came down the right and saw her cross-cum-shot hit off the post and bounce up into the air.
Lea SchĂĽller was the quickest to react, powering a header home from right beside the penalty spot.
Caro Simon doubled the league champions' lead on the half-hour, finishing off a brilliant team move with an equally strong finish past Bremen keeper Livia Peng.
Rieke Dieckmann pulled one back for Bremen just before the half-time whistle with a arrowed shot just to the right of Ena Mahmutovic.
SchĂĽller restored Bayern's two-goal lead 20 minutes into the second half with another excellent header.
The forward completed her hat-trick and ended any chance of a Bremen comeback with just 11 minutes left on the clock, this time sidefooting home coolly inside the box.
Larissa Mühlhaus got Bremen's second deep into added time but it was little more than consolation as Bayern sealed a historic league and cup double.
