Borussia Dortmund pushing to sign Chelsea youngster Carney Chukwuemeka | OneFootball

Chelsea have received an offer for Carney Chukwuemeka.

That is according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, who has reported on X that Borussia Dortmund are pushing to sign Chukwuemeka from Chelsea before the transfer window closes next Monday.

Plettenberg has claimed that Dortmund are “pushing” to get a deal done for Chukwuemeka, who cost Chelsea £20 million (Sky Sports) in transfer fees in the summer of 2022 when they signed him from Premier League rivals Aston Villa and can operate as an attacking midfielder or a left winger.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Dortmund Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl personally wants the 21-year-old, who has been linked with Everton as well and was described as “one of the most exciting young players in Europe” by Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly on Sky Sports in August 2022.

Chukwuemeka is not getting much playing time at Chelsea under head coach Enzo Maresca at the moment.

The 21-year-old has made only five appearances for the Blues all season and none of them has been in the Premier League.

During the 2023-24 campaign, Chukwuemeka found the back of the net twice and gave one assist in 12 matches in all competitions for the London club.

Maresca clearly does not think that Chukwuemeka is good enough to play week in and week out for his team.

Dortmund are a massive club and are aiming to finish in the top four of the Bundesliga table this season. The German outfit are also in the UEFA Champions League.

Chukwuemeka should seriously consider a move to Dortmund on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Jude Bellingham became a star at Dortmund and eventually earned the move to Real Madrid.

Jadon Sancho played his best football at the Bundesliga club.

Chukwuemeka could be another English player who flourishes at Dortmund.
