Carlos Augusto could reportedly start Wednesday’s Champions League semifinal first leg between Barcelona and Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan take on Barcelona in the Champions League in just a couple days’ time.

And Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi will certainly have some major selection decisions to make.

Above all, Tuttosport suggests, the left flank is up for grabs.

Carlos Augusto had started for Inter in the first leg of their quarterfinal tie against Barcelona. Then, Federico Dimarco started the second.

Tuttosport note the contrasting performances from Augusto and Dimarco against Roma yesterday.

Playing in the back three, Augusto put in a thoroughly convincing display.

The Brazilian looked defensively alert and physically sharp.

On the other hand, Federico Dimarco really struggled with the pace of the match on the left flank.

Moreover, this was not the first time that Dimarco has looked below par defensively in recent matches.

Therefore, Inzaghi will have something to think about in terms of his selection in a match as tough as Barcelona, where his team will certainly have a lot of defending to do.

Accordingly, reports Tuttosport, Augusto is a major candidate to start on Wednesday.
