Bayern Munich have tried to sign the best young German talent over the years. They missed out on Leroy Sane in 2015. The German winger was one of the most promising talents in the Bundesliga during his time at Schalke. Manchester City managed to beat the competition from several clubs, including Bayern, to sign him. Rekordmeister ended up signing him in 2020 for a significant fee.

Die Roten want to avoid another situation like Sane. They tried to sign Assan Ouédraogo from Schalke last summer as he was considered one of the upcoming bright German talents. RB Leipzig managed to beat Bayern for Ouédraogo’s signature.

Bayern are working on a deal to sign young Tom Bischof from Hoffenheim on a free transfer. The Bavarian club has already held positive talks with the German midfielder. The 19-year-old can talk to interested clubs in January about a summer move.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Hoffenheim have not given up on Bischof's contract renewal. They are expected to hold contract talks with the player over the second half of the season.

This is not the first time in the last decade that Bayern are looking to sign a midfielder from Hoffenheim on a free transfer. They had signed Sebastian Rudy on a bosman deal in 2017.

Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt have effectively given up on signing Bischof since Bayern have entered the race to sign him. Frankfurt had identified him as one of their top midfield targets for the summer transfer window.

Bayern have plans in place for Bischof

Sky Sports have also revealed Bayern’s plans for Bischof. The Bavarian club wants to arrange a loan move for the youngster after signing him in the summer. Die Roten hope to loan him out to a top-tier club.

The youngster has been playing regularly for Hoffenheim this summer. It wouldn’t make sense for him to spend next season on the bench in Munich since there is significant competition for places in the center of the park.

Bischof should be assured about Bayern’s loan plans. The Bavarian club has enjoyed a lot of success when it comes to getting the right loan moves for young players over the last few years. Josip Stanišić and Alexander Nubel are prime examples of Die Roten’s good loan moves. Both players have flourished during their loan spells at different clubs.

Hoffenheim should look to secure a loan deal for Bischof if they fail to agree a new deal for him. It is not the best outcome for them, but they will at least have Bischof for another season.
