Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has this week moved to provide an update on his plans with the club moving forward.
The Italian tactician sat down for an in-depth discussion with Rai Radio 1 on Monday, during which the subject of his future took its place front and centre.
Real Madrid have of course begun to find their way over recent weeks, on the back of a difficult opening to the campaign.
In the thick of their woes, it was even suggested that Ancelotti was on the chopping block, despite being fresh off a domestic and European double in the 2023/24 campaign.
With this as the background, recent weeks have seen the legendary coach linked with a return to his home country, with AS Roma.
During his interview with Rai Radio 1, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of such speculation was put to Ancelotti himself.
And, though the 65-year-old did not go as far as to completely shut down his Giallorossi links, Ancelotti did assure that he remains content in Madrid:
“There is a lot of talk about it, but I am fine here and I am working to stay as long as possible. Ranieri is a friend and he is doing very well, I am happy. I have a great relationship with Roma, very good memories, but there is a long way to go from saying to doing. At the moment, I am fine here and I am not thinking about my future. I still have a two-year contract, but contracts can be broken or extended.”
