Departing Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti plans to draft a former member of the midfield ranks in Spain’s capital back into his Brazil’s squad over the months ahead.
That’s according to Brazilian outlet Globo, who point towards Casemiro as the player in question.
Carlo Ancelotti’s name has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines across world football over the course of the day to date.
This comes after the Italian was officially unveiled as the new manager of the Brazilian national team.
Ancelotti will take up the reins of the Seleção in the summer, upon the close of the La Liga campaign.
And as alluded to above, on Monday evening, an insight into the immediate personnel plans of the iconic tactician for his new squad has been forthcoming.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of Globo that, as one of his first orders of business, Ancelotti intends to recall Casemiro to international duty.
The 65-year-old spent a shared stint with the midfielder in Madrid, and is understood to have been impressed by Casemiro’s recent form with Manchester United
‘The coach has expressed his desire to count on the player as one of his leaders and there is a good chance that he will be called up,’ it is therefore concluded.
