Celta Vigo eyeing summer deal for Real Madrid starlet | OneFootball

The brass at Celta Vigo have set their sights on a summer deal for a member of the attacking ranks at La Liga rivals Real Madrid.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Gonzalo García as the player in question.

Frontman Gonzalo has for his part enjoyed nothing short of a brilliant season to date.

Acting as the first-choice centre-forward for Real Madrid’s Castilla outfit, the 21-year-old has managed to find the net on 24 occasions in league play.

As much has culminated in regular call-ups to the first-team setup under Carlo Ancelotti, as well as substitute appearances in both La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

With such production, though, comes inevitable outside interest.

As per a report from Relevo:

‘Gonzalo’s strong performance has sparked interest’ on the part of a whole host of clubs across the Spanish football landscape.

Most keen at present, though, are Celta Vigo.

Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the final third for next season, the Celestes have earmarked Gonzalo as a leading target.

Real Madrid’s €5 million asking price could prove a stumbling block, but the board at Balaídos appear determined to work out some form of agreement.
