Getting drawn against Championship side Raith Rovers in what can only be described as a very favourable draw for the Scottish Cup holders and Brendan Rodgers will be pleased to have been given a home tie too.
No disrespect to the Kirkcaldy side, but it’s a game that Celtic should be comfortably winning, and one that gives us a great chance of reaching the quarter finals as we aim to complete a record breaking ninth domestic treble.
Of course we need to respect our opponents and it will be a game that will require Brendan to field his strongest possible side, as he will be aware of the problems Falkirk, the side who Raith Rovers beat to reach the fifth round, caused us back in September at Celtic park in the Premier Sports League Cup.
The tie will be played in the second weekend in February and hopefully by that time we will be looking forward to a Champions league play off spot, bolstered by a couple of new additions to our squad.

Another intriguing tie drawn out the hat seen Scotland’s newest club theRangers, founded by Charles Green in 2012, paired with the country’s oldest club Queen’s Park, a club with an unbroken history dating back to 1867 and the first ever winners of the Scottish Cup. I’m sure the SMSM media will be all over it and promoting it in such an accurate manner…
