Despite a rare defeat against Hibernian, Celtic remain the runaway leaders in the Scottish Premiership. While the gap could have been closed to 10 points with a win over St Mirren, the dreadful Rangers suffered another humiliation in their own backyard as the Buddies scored twice in the second half to rub salt on their wounds.
Jack Butland: 6
Could have done little to stop Mikaël Mandron and Toyosi Olusanya from finding the net. Made some key saves to avoid more misery.
James Tavernier: 6
An underwhelming performance from the skipper who lacked his usual attacking game with overlapping runs, crosses and cut insides from the right-hand flank.
Robin Propper: 6.5
Wasted a goal-scoring opportunity early into the game. Dominated the duels but failed to show supremacy in the heart of the backline.
Clinton Nsiala: 6
Struggled in deep defence as he could not draw a foul which resulted in Mandron’s goal. Was kept on his toes by the spirited visitors.

Jefte: 6.5
Jefte, too, failed to produce anything spectacular down the left. Performed his defensive duties but his deliveries lacked the end product high up the pitch.
Mohamed Diomande: 6
A below-par performance from the Ivorian who failed to offer his creative spark in and around the attacking third. Was taken off for Tom Lawrence around the 72nd-minute mark.
Nicolas Raskin: 6.5
Worked hard in midfield but lacked the support due to a lack of gameplan and intent all afternoon. Made some recoveries but lost the majority of duels throughout the contest.
Vaclav Cerny: 7
Created a few chances from the right-hand flank, but unlike other games, the Czech wideman could not lift the Gers all alone. Was closely marked by the Buddies who refrained him from making dribbles and direct runs. Not his day as he also hit the woodwork moments before the final whistle.
Hamza Igamane: 6
Had some moments early into the game. However, he was largely disappointing high up the pitch and was lucky to stay on the pitch after VAR ruled out a potential marching order late in the first half. Made way for Danilo around the hour mark.
Ianis Hagi: 6.5
Lively down the left but was largely inconsistent before making way for Nedim Bajrami late in the match. Did not threaten enough in attack with his swift footwork and movements.
Cyriel Dessers: 5
Failed to threaten Zach Hemming in the St Mirren goal. Was largely isolated upfront and his mediocrity cost the Light Blues once more.
Rangers Subs vs St Mirren
Danilo: 6.5
Returned after a long injury layoff. Looked sharp since replacing Igamane in the attacking third.
Nedim Bajrami: 5.5
Hardly had any impact in the final minutes of the contest.
