Former FC Barcelona player Cesc Fàbregas has transitioned into management and is now in charge of Serie A side Como. The influence of a former player cannot be underestimated, as the Italian club has already secured several signings from across Europe.

Currently sitting 16th in the Serie A table, Como find themselves in a relegation battle and may need further reinforcements to ensure their survival in Italy’s top flight. The Spanish manager will likely need to make decisive moves in the ongoing January transfer window.

Now, as per Mundo Deportivo, Cesc Fàbregas is eyeing a move for Barcelona duo Eric Garcia and Ansu Fati to bolster his Como squad. Eric Garcia might be allowed to leave, given Barcelona’s injured defenders are gradually returning, while Ansu Fati appears to be out of Hansi Flick’s plans.

Both players could benefit from a fresh start away from the Catalan capital—Ansu Fati to revive his career and Eric Garcia to take the next step in his development. Having graduated from La Masia, the duo understands the philosophy of playing with the ball, which could significantly enhance Fàbregas’ team.

Barcelona, for their part, will undoubtedly look to strengthen their squad this summer. However, it is fair to say that making reinforcements could prove challenging unless they create room in their wage budget. This is where Como could provide a viable solution.

It is worth noting that Como are also closing in on the loan signing of another Barcelona starlet, Álex Valle. After spending the first half of the season at Celtic, the young talent appears set to join the Italian side as he continues his development.

Similarly, Barcelona will be looking to arrange a loan move for Ansu Fati and potentially a permanent transfer for Eric Garcia. If Como can offer a suitable fee for Garcia and agree to cover the majority of Fati’s wages during the loan spell, the deals could be mutually beneficial and make perfect sense for all parties involved.

It remains to be seen whether this transfer saga will gain momentum and if Como will genuinely push to secure the Barcelona duo. Only time will tell how this situation unfolds.
