Supporters of any club in Leicester's hazardous and problematic position would be unsatisfied with proceedings. Those fans are also entitled to (hopefully politely) make their feelings known at games or on social media and the like. A toxic atmosphere now prevails at King Power Stadium, which is regrettable. Evidently, the powers that be in Leicestershire just didn't get things right ahead of this campaign.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, who also managed Leicester City last season in the Championship, has been speaking about current LCFC matters. And he has, rather unsurprisingly, decided to declare his support for Foxes chairman Aiyawatt 'Top' Srivaddhanaprabha along with director of football Jon Rudkin. The two members of the City hierarchy are under pressure at the moment. Top is implored to do better but is generally accepted atop the pyramid. Meanwhile Rudkin is not wanted in his capacity by the majority of the Blue Army.
However, some qualified people still support the two executive Leicester men. One of these champions is Maresca. The Italian recently spoke of his time on Filbert Way, and of Srivaddhanaprabha and Rudkin. So what did the Blues boss reveal about the pair?
The City players certainly seemed to take to Maresca in 2023/24. They enjoyed a very successful term in the English second tier. And the fan base also appreciated the 45-year-old in general.
Before the recent match between the Foxes and the Blues, Maresca commented on Leicester's plight. He didn't confirm why he thinks the club and team are struggling. Although he said he would be saddened if his old side were relegated this term.
More importantly, Maresca talked of Srivaddhanaprabha and Rudkin directly. Incredibly, the former declared that the duo are the 'best people he's met in football':
"I really feel sorry for Leicester because I will always be thankful for them.I met the best people in my life, in terms of football, in Leicester: the owner and the sporting director.I hope for Leicester that they’re going to be a Premier League club. Whether I’m surprised, it’s not my job. I’m not there. I’m thinking and focused just about Chelsea."
