The transfer news is really starting to pop off this week as we enter day three of the January transfer window and more links begin to appear.

In terms of anything big happening, it all stays quiet on that front for now. But I have written a number of stories this morning on this site with fresh Chelsea links to signing players, centre backs and strikers!

Sources: Two Bournemouth defenders ‘ones to watch’ for Chelsea in January, Joao Felix staying, Goalkeeper on hold, more…

The new striker that Chelsea’s name is now in the hat for is Mattheus Cunha from Wolves, which is a link that will surely excite many Chelsea fans.

As well as Cunha, Chelsea are reportedly now in pole position to sign Crystal Palace centre back Marc Guehi this month.

So as I say, the rumours have been coming in thick and fast today, and there is now yet another new name being linked with Chelsea.

Chelsea a landing spot for Pepi?

Pepi looks like a talent

Goal have an interesting report out this morning on PSV striker Ricardo Pepi.

Pepi might be on the move. Sources close to the player apparently confirmed to GOAL last week that the USMNT striker is the subject of concrete interest from other clubs – with at least one team bidding in excess of $20 million to secure his services. Other offers, reportedly from both France and England, are likely to come.

They then go on to mention Chelsea as one of the best ‘landing spots’ for Pepi.

Goal write:

‘There remains a need for a proper striker to fill out the squad that Maresca has steadily curated over the course of the last six months.

‘Pepi could be that man. He will not push Jackson for starters minutes immediately, but might certainly be able to provide off the bench. He would also help out in cup competitions – even if that means settling for starts in the faraway countries brought about by the UEFA Conference League. At 21, Pepi is at the right age that Chelsea have been after in recent years.’

He does look decent. Pepi has excelled for PSV this season, scoring 12 and assisting three in just five starts. He is averaging 1.68 goal contributions per 90 minutes.
