One former Liverpool professional player has said that a current Chelsea player reminds him of a 1970s Brazilian, who we know had bags of quality.

Classic Brazil played some of the most attractive football of all time through the eras. I wasn’t personally alive during the 70s, but I know the kind of samba style players that Don Hutchison is referring to when he made that comments.

Brazilians manage to produce some of the most technically gifted players in the world over time. They have legends such as Ronaldinho, Pele, Ronaldo, Cafu, and Roberto Carlos just to name a few. And there are many more.

So for Cole Palmer to be likened to Brazilian players is of course going to be a real compliment for the Blues attacking midfielder.

Palmer like a Brazilian

As you can see in the quote above, as posted by Chelsea HQ today, Hutchison says Palmer reminds him of a 1970s Brazilian player!

I’m not sure I fully agree with this though. Palmer is class, but he’s not quite as tricky and fast as many of the great Brazilians that I know at least. He is technically sound though so that is one resemblance. But other than that I am struggling to see it.

That’s not taking anything away from Palmer himself, because he truly has become the Chelsea talisman, the main one who they often turn to to get them a goal, an assist, or just spark the rest of the team into life to get a goal back or something.

He grabbed another important goal for Chelsea yesterday to help them eat Aston Villa 3-0 in their latest Premier League match up at Stamford Bridge.
