One Chelsea reporter has shared whether the club’s ownership are now losing faith in head coach Enzo Maresca this season.
The news comes after Chelsea were defeated by Arsenal in the Premier League yesterday, losing to a first half headed goal by Mikel Merino.
The game was obviously not without its drama and Chelsea fans saw what they expect to see every time Robert Sanchez starts, and that is him making a silly mistake and giving away a goal. This time he got lucky, but Maresca continued to back his goalkeeper at the full time whistle once again.
Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber was seen mocking Maresca on the side lines in an interaction that has annoyed Blues fans even more.
All in all it wasn’t a good performance from Chelsea and it lacked intensity, desire, energy, and any kind of real belief that they could get something from the game.
So, is Maresca under pressure? The same pressure that Mauricio Pochettino was under this time last season? No, apparently not.

Chelsea reporter Nizaar Kinsella writes for The BBC after the game:
‘This time last year, parts of the Chelsea’s ownership were losing faith in Mauricio Pochettino but they have no such feeling with new manager Enzo Maresca.’
So there you have it, according to this anyway, Chelsea will be sticking with Maresca through thick and thin.
I personally believe that they will see out the season and then assess him when they have seen where the club finish in the league and if they can win the Conference League. Only then would we see whether they will be sticking with the manager or not.
I don’t see them sticking with him if Chelsea do not get Champions League football, personally.
