Cole Palmer is fast becoming one of the most influential players in the English national team, having enjoyed rapid growth in the past few years.

Currently plying his trade for Chelsea, the former Man City youth player has racked up 14 goals and six assists in the Premier League. Needless to say, he is now regarded as one of the best players in England.

In a recent interaction, Cole Palmer, known for his ‘ice cold’ finishing in front of goal, has lauded Barcelona’s rising sensation Lamine Yamal.

“He’s 17. Crazy. I didn’t really see him last season, but when we played him in the Euro 2024 final. Just watching him… He is crazy, he’s so good. It’s crazy,” he said (h/t ESPN).

Yamal was indeed one of the top performers in Euro 2024, with his offensive contributions alongside Nico Williams playing a key role in helping Spain lift the tournament.

Since then, the Spaniard has only elevated his performance. This season alone, the 17-year-old has racked up nine goals and 12 assists in all competitions.

Yamal’s performances have seen his market price and valuation skyrocket. The same can be said for Palmer as well, who has witnessed similar growth.

Palmer was an important figure for England in their Euro 2024 campaign, helping the Three Lions reach the final before being beaten by Yamal’s Spain 2-1.

The two players have had a similar offensive output this season. However, Yamal is five years younger than the Englishman, which just goes to show the immense potential the young Spaniard currently holds.

Unfortunately, Palmer cannot face Yamal in club football this season as Chelsea are not participating in this season’s Champions League, having finished sixth in the Premier League last season.
