Due to other results on Sunday, Chelsea have now slipped down to 7th place in the Premier League as we reach the end of February.

The Blues lost 2-1 against Aston Villa on Saturday evening after being 1-0 up inside the first 20 minutes. I think Chelsea fans would have just expected even at that point, that their side were still going to lose this game, and they did.

Chelsea could not score and were really terrible. Even Cole Palmer was terrible, and he was seen trying to blame others for a bad pass that HE himself made. This just about sums everything up right now.

ESPN have reviewed Chelsea’s form since December, and when you read things like this, it really does just hit you in the face as to how poor Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have been.

They explain that just as concerning as the goalkeeper situation at the club is Chelsea’s run of form since Dec. 22: They’ve lost double the number of games (six) than they’ve won during that time, have been knocked out of the FA Cup and have slipped to seventh in the Premier League table. Two months ago, Maresca was trying to keep a lid on expectations and felt forced to play down suggestions his team were in the title race; now he’s looking over his shoulder at the likes of Villa, hoping his players can find some form.
