After a slow start to the campaign, Club Brugge have really begun to find their form. The side have been exceptional in European football, winning key Champions League games as they look to progress to the next round. They have also closed the gap on Genk to just one point, an ominous sign for the rest of the league. Usually Club wait until after the winter break to really put a run of results together to close in on the title.

Summer signing Christos Tzolis has been a huge hit, with nine goals and five assists in 22 games already. Another of the summer acquisitions has also found himself at home in Brugge. Young Swiss midfielder Ardon Jashari has already become a key player for Nicky Hayen in both Europe and the Pro League. Alongside the new boys, the ever reliable Hans Vanaken is also having another great season. The 32-year-old has scored seven goals and grabbed eight assists in 29 games. He looks set to surpass the 12 goals and nine assists from last campaign.

Transfer needs

In all honesty, Club really don’t need to spend this window. The side is strong in all departments. Perhaps if a key player or two is the subject of a bid that they cannot refuse, Club could then look to replace them. Although, they also have a number of youngsters from the academy that would likely be able to fill roles behind others. Again, a daunting prospect for the rest of the league when looking at how strong this side is at the moment.

Should Joel Ordonez, one of their young players heavily scouted by top sides, be taken away, another central defender could help sustain the depth in this position. However, Club would likely look for Ordonez to return on loan until the end of the season as part of any deal.
