A club are waiting for their manager’s approval before they open official talks with Southampton in a bid to land a Saints star they are keen on.
Southampton look all but doomed in the Premier League, despite the appointment of Ivan Juric, but have landed Albert Gronbaek on loan from Rennes.
Players could also depart St Mary’s before the window closes, with Cameron Archer drawing interest from Leeds United and now Paul Onuachu wanted by Besiktas.
Onuachu impressed during his loan spell with Trabzonspor last season, scoring 17 goals in all competitions for them.
According to Turkish daily Star, Besiktas president Serdal Adali has contacted Onuachu and received a positive signal from the player’s end.
However, the Black Eagles will only make a formal move if boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer give the green light.
The former Manchester United boss is now in charge in Istanbul and he will need to be convinced about the Saints striker.
Besiktas sit just sixth in the Turkish Super Lig and scoring goals has been an issue.
They have managed just 29 in 20 league games, far below Fenerbahce with 52 and Galatasaray with 53.
Onuachu has one and a half years left on his Southampton contract and it is unclear whether Saints will let the player leave.
