Barcelona are gearing up for a decisive UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Inter Milan, following a thrilling 3-3 draw in the first leg at home.

But as both teams prepare for the return fixture, injuries have created uncertainty for both managers, especially for Barça boss Hansi Flick, who travels to Milan with a heavily weakened squad.

List of Barcelona’s absentees

Flick’s biggest concern lies in defence. Alejandro Balde, the team’s first-choice left-back, has not recovered in time and has been left out of the squad entirely.

This has forced Flick to reshuffle, with centre-back Inigo Martinez likely to step in at left-back.

On the opposite side, Eric Garcia is the most probable choice for right-back, filling in for Jules Kounde, who picked up a thigh muscle injury during the first leg and is ruled out of this crucial tie.

Barcelona’s problems don’t end at the back. In midfield, they are without Marc Casado, Pablo Torre, and Marc Bernal..

Adding to their troubles, first-choice goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is not registered for the European campaign and is unavailable.

However, there’s one piece of good news for Barça fans: Robert Lewandowski has been included in the squad. The Polish striker missed the first leg due to a muscle issue but has recovered in time and could be crucial in leading the attack.

What about Inter Milan?

Inter Milan are also dealing with key injuries. Lautaro Martinez, who was forced off with a thigh strain in the first leg, remains a doubt. While he might be fit enough for a place on the bench, his condition will be monitored until the last minute.

Defender Benjamin Pavard also remains a concern. Despite joining training on Monday, he had to leave early due to discomfort in his ankle, making his participation highly unlikely.

Meanwhile, Valentin Carboni continues his long recovery from a serious knee injury sustained in October and won’t be part of the squad.

With both sides grappling with major fitness issues, the second leg promises to be an unpredictable and high-stakes showdown in Milan.
