Dan Burn returned to Tyneside just over three years ago.

Never could he have dreamt of what would then happen, as he joined a club and team that looked destined for relegation when he signed at the end of January 2022.

Part of the best defence in the Premier League in the 2022/23 season.

Finishing top four and playing Champions League, including scoring a brilliant headed goal as United won 4-1 at St James’ Park.

Speaking of brilliant headed goals…two weeks ago at Wembley, the most brilliant headed goal EVER, by anybody.

The all important opening goal and named man of the match as Newcastle United won the first trophy in the lifetime of Dan Burn and so many other Newcastle United fans.

Then the victory parade and the Town Moor event this weekend.

Dan Burn speaks so well for all Newcastle United fans and this is no different, our man of the match trophy winning big lad from Blyth summing up what this has all meant, winning silverware and then this weekend’s celebrations to top it all off.

Dan Burn speaking to BBC Radio Newcastle about Saturday’s open top bus parade:

“It is something I will never forget.

“I knew there would be a lot of people, but when we saw the sheer amount of people…it was amazing.

“It really hit home.

“What it means to the region and the city, the achievement that we have managed to do.

“The lads were starting chants all the way round and just being able to take in that moment, it was only an hour, but it’s an hour I’ll never forget.”

Dan Burn on a memorable couple of weeks:

“It is strange that everything I wanted to happen, has happened within two weeks.

“I have tried to be as present as I can and focus on what I was doing.

“Today [Saturday] it has been nice to reflect on what I have been able to do the last couple of weeks, obviously now box off this whole little adventure, before concentrating on the next game.”

Dan Burn asked how many times he has watched his Wembley goal?

“A lot.

“The first few days, my phone was getting constantly pinged with videos and remixes.

“When I was away with the England lads, it was on TV all the time and I ended up having to switch the TVs off at the end, because I was starting to get a bit embarrassed!
