Both teams have been in fine form so far this season and go into the game separate by just three points, with the campaign now firmly in its second half.

Speaking to the media at Thorp Arch ahead of the match, Daniel Farke gave his thoughts on facing the Clarets, and the attention around the game.

“Yes, it’s a spotlight game, especially more or less for the outside world and then also, of course, for the supporters and the press, the TV, that's also quite normal,” the boss explained.

“The team who is sitting top of the league plays against one of the top sides, and there's always a bit more spotlight on it, and rightly so, so there's no doubt about this.

“Overall, it's, if I'm honest, just one of 46 games, and just another chance also to add one or three points for both teams and for that we don't have to over-interpret too much into it.

“But Burnley are definitely one of the top sides in this division. They played last season in the Premier League, they are also one of the big favourites to be there with promotion.

“They have an excellent squad, many, many experienced players, individual quality, a very experienced manager who knows what it takes in order to promote to the Premier League.

“They are ambitious, they have a really strong side, really good in defending. We are looking forward to a good game.”

With a longer break between games than usual due to the television schedule, the boss was also asked about the fitness of his squad following the midweek win over Norwich City.

Farke said: “Everyone came through our game without any problems, so I hope that all the players will be available then also on next Monday.

“So overall some good news and I expect more or less to have the same group available that we had also available for the last game.

“The re-scan was very good [for Pascal Struijk]. The tendon is not involved in this injury, so we can be a bit more progressive.

“He's already doing individual stuff outside, so I hope I have him back in team training in a few days.”
