An insight into the kind of financial outlay which the powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid are willing to commit to in a bid to secure the immediate signing of Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has today been provided.
The name of defender Alexander-Arnold has of course returned to the fore across the media headlines in Spain over the last 24 hours.
This comes amid the widespread understanding that Real Madrid have altered their stance regarding the Englishman’s signing.
Los Blancos have long earmarked TAA as a leading transfer target, ahead of the expiration of his contract at Anfield in the summer of 2025.
Until this week, all rumours surrounding as much were based on a free agent swoop on the part of the Spanish champions.
In turn, it came as something of a surprise when word was forthcoming on Tuesday that Real had tabled a cash offer for Alexander-Arnold for January.
The bid in question was rejected without so much as a 2nd thought on the part of Liverpool, but Florentino Pérez and co, it would appear, are not done yet…
As per a report from English outlet The Telegraph:
‘Real Madrid are prepared to pay £20 million to persuade Liverpool to sell Trent Alexander-Arnold in January.’
This figure, however, is still not expected to prove enough to convince the Anfield hierarchy of the merits of a mid-season sale.
