Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Petar Sucic is one step away from joining Inter Milan.
This according to Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti, via FCInterNews. They report that the 22-year-old has agreed a five-year deal with the Nerazzurri, and could be in their squad for the Club World Cup.
Inter have been in negotiations with Dinamo Zagreb to try and sign Sucic this month.
The Nerazzurri have marked the Croatian international out as a target to bolster their midfield depth.
Reportedly, Inter see Sucic as a potential successor to Hakan Calhanoglu in holding midfield.
The likes of Napoli and Borussia Dortmund have also shown an interest in Sucic, reports Sportsky Novosti. However, it is Inter who have really stepped forward in their pursuit of the Croat.
According to Sportske Novosti, Sucic himself is very much keen on the move to Inter.
The 22-year-old has already agreed terms with the Nerazzurri. He is ready to sign a five-year deal.
However, Inter do not intend to sign Sucic right away. Rather, he will stay at Dinamo for the remainder of the season.
But at the end of the campaign, Inter could take advantage to the expanded FIFA transfer window and bring Sucic in.
The Croat could be part of the Nerazzurri’s squad for the Club World Cup this summer, reports Sportske Novosti.
Meanwhile, the outlet report, the talks between Inter and Dinamo are not quite over the lines.
But the clubs are close to an agreement. Inter should pay a fee of around €12 millon for Sucic, plus €3 million in easily attainable add-ons.
Sportske Novosti report that Dinamo want to give Sucic his wish of an Inter move. Therefore, the clubs are just ironing out the final details.
