England battled to stay in the friendly with Germany after going three goals down but ended up being beaten 4-3.
Germany stormed into a 3-0 lead as Giulia Gwinn was clipped in the box by Millie Bright and got up to stick the resulting penalty in the bottom corner, before an even more clinical finish from open play via the far post and then Klara Buhl’s drive proving too hot for Hannah Hampton to keep out.
Georgia Stanway replied from the spot after Gwinn was adjudged to have handled Lauren Hemp’s cross in the box, three minutes later the Bayern Munich player was found by Beth Mead to finish past Ann-Katrin Berger.

Ella Toone put a great chance wide of the far post and Linda Dallman had her 30-yard chip tipped onto the bar by Hampton, during a frantic first half.
Jule Brand had a goal ruled out and tore through the England defence but shot straight at Hampton.
After England failed to clear the ball, the referee decided that Alessia Russo fouled Sophie Wolter and Sara Dabritz put away the penalty.
With ten minutes to go, Berger spilled Hemp’s free kick and Lucy Bronze put the ball in the empty net.
