Mike Tresor is believed to be attracting interest from Italy, amid a fairly unsuccessful spell at Turf Moor.
Serie A side Genoa are ready to make a move for Burnley winger Mike Tresor.
This is according to Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, who also believes Tresor is currently the Italian team's first-choice target in this area at the moment.
The Clarets' winger has failed to make much of an impact during his time at Turf Moor, failing to register a single goal or assist in his 19 competitive appearances last term.
And his only appearance of this season so far came against Reading in the FA Cup earlier this month.
In fairness to Tresor, he was able to register an assist against the Royals, and his appearance at the Select Car Leasing Stadium raised hopes that he would be heavily involved for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.
However, he was missing from the Lancashire side's matchday squad against Sunderland on Friday evening, and his time at Turf Moor could potentially come to an end sooner rather than later.
The Belgian may have stayed with the club beyond the end of the summer transfer window, but he hasn't made much of an impact at all this season.
The Italian side are keen on a move for Tresor and he's the first-choice target for them at this point.
This is according to Di Marzio, who has also reported that the Clarets are resistant to a move at this stage.
This could force Genoa to turn to Benfica's Gianluca Prestianni as a potential alternative, but Tresor is the preferred target at this stage, and it remains to be seen whether a deal can be struck with Scott Parker's side before the end of the window.
Tresor hasn't been able to make much of an impact during his time in Lancashire.
And although the Clarets are unlikely to generate too much for his signature, considering his lack of game time this term, they should think about selling him.
It would probably benefit all parties if the player made a fresh start elsewhere.
And the injection of funds that may come from a sale could aid the Clarets during the January or summer window.
It will be interesting to see what happens, with Parker's side seemingly retaining a fairly tough stance on the wide player at the moment.
