Ex-Barcelona star endorses move for Man United’s Marcus Rashford | OneFootball

Former Barcelona striker Rivaldo has this week weighed in on the ongoing speculation linking Manchester United star Marcus Rashford with a move to the club.

The name of frontman Rashford has of course proven a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital for several weeks now.

As much comes amid the understanding that the England international has been identified as a leading mid-season transfer target by Barcelona.

Available on loan this month, Rashford is seen as a viable option to reinforce the left flank in Hansi Flick’s squad.

Speaking during an interview with Betfair, as cited by Diario Sport, this week, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Rashford’s potential signing for his former employers was put to the aforementioned Rivaldo.

And, in his response, the Brazilian fully endorsed such a move:

“I think he would have a place in this team, because, in addition to being a great player, Barça have a schedule of many games ahead of them and that would help them to have opportunities. Rashford surely knows that.

“An arrival like Rashford can only be positive because it helps the coach build a better team and gives him more options to choose between those alternatives to put on the field.”
