The 35-year-old gave his thoughts in a press conference after the match, as reported by FCInterNews.

Inter Milan stumbled to a draw this evening in Serie A.

The Nerazzurr had a 2-0 advantage over Parma at halftime. However, after the break the Gialloblu were able to turn things around completely, scoring twice in just nine minutes.

And after that, there was no response from Inter. They had to settle for just a point.

Inter cannot, however, afford to dwell on this disappointing draw for long.

In just three days’ time, the Nerazzurri will be playing yet another huge match. They take on Bayern Munich in the first leg of a Champions League quarterfinal tie.

However, as far as whether the importance of Tuesday’s match against Bayern was a distraction for Inter this evening, wingback Matteo Darmian said that “I don’t think so.”

“Not even subconsciously,” he continued.

“Because when we go out on the pitch, we’re totally focused on what we have to do in the match. So there’s no thought of Bayern.”

“I’m sorry about the result,” Darmian continued. “Because it’s a draw, which was not the result that we wanted at the start of the match.”

Meanwhile, Darmian also gave his thoughts on having to fill in for Denzel Dumfries for a little while as the Dutchman recovers from injury.

“I also had a small injury,” he noted. “But I also had the international break to recover.”

“Now I’m fine. And I’ll try to give the team a hand, as always, whether it’s from the start or as a substitute.”

“Now we have to make up for the absence of Denzel,” Darmian noted. “He’s an important player for us.”

“Both Zalewski and I will do our best. And then we hope that Denzel can recover as soon as possible.”
