Jadon Sancho has attracted the attention of former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba with his promising start at Chelsea.

While United stars struggled to rattle the net against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, Sancho enjoyed a positive outing in London, helping his side defeat West Ham United 3-0.

The Englishman made his first Premier League start for the Blues and grabbed an assist on the road.

His quick pass allowed Nicolas Jackson to sprint towards the West Ham goal and beat Alphonse Areola to open the scoring in the fourth minute.

Even after the early goal, Sancho, unlike his time at Old Trafford, did not put his foot off the gas and appeared lively all afternoon.

Pogba, who shared the dressing room with Sancho during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign, took note of the Englishman’s brilliant performance and commented “Him” on the playmaker’s Instagram post.

Sancho also made headlines on his debut for Chelsea against Bournemouth, as he found Christopher Nkunku near the penalty area to slot an 86th-minute winner.

Having registered two assists in his first two league outings for the London outfit, Sancho now just needs one more to match his assist tally from his first season at United. He failed to score a goal or register an assist in his 14 appearances under Solskjaer.

The 2021/22 campaign was a disappointing one for Pogba as well, with the Frenchman spending plenty of time on the sidelines due to injury struggles.

He exited Old Trafford as a free agent at the end of the season and joined Juventus. The World Cup winner is currently serving a doping ban.

Meanwhile, Sancho joined Chelsea on loan during the recently concluded summer transfer window. The Blues have the obligation to make the deal permanent for a fee believed to be between £20-25m if they finish 14th or higher in the league this term, making his return to Old Trafford very unlikely.

The Mancunian giants made a costly mistake by letting Pogba leave the club in 2012. The United faithful would hope Sancho’s exit is not viewed in a similar light in the long run.
