Ex-Real Madrid star criticises Vinicius’ on-field behaviour – ‘Fights with everyone’ | OneFootball

Vinicius Jr. has not quite been as effective for Real Madrid this season as he has in past campaigns and several factors have to do with the same.

The arrival of Kylian Mbappe may be the single largest factor for Vinicius’ struggles, especially with both players occupying a similar position on the field and the Frenchman slowly taking over the limelight at the club from the Brazilian.

His performances on the ball aside, however, this season has not seen any tangible reduction in Vinicius’ involvement in controversy for multiple reasons.

Ex-Sevilla and Real Madrid star talks

Speaking to the media earlier this week, ex-Real Madrid player Davor Suker spoke about Vinicius Jr’s on-field behaviour and how he did not approve of it by any means.

“I like Vinicius, but I don’t like his attitude. He fights with everyone and that’s not good for football,” he said, as relayed by SPORT.

The ex-player’s statements might resonate with the thoughts of many fans across the globe, but also concurrently paint only one half of the picture.

Vinicius’ on-field behaviour may indeed not be the best at all times and he has often tended to be one to pick up a fight for minute matters.

At the same time, however, the Brazilian is one of the most fouled players in La Liga and his frustration at times is only understandable.

Moreover, he is often the target of racial abuse and it has not seen a tangible decline in recent years despite conscious efforts from all stakeholders.

All facts considered, it is indeed in the Real Madrid star’s best interest to keep his mind focused on the game and not swayed by the words or actions of those around him.

After all, recent years have proved that Vinicius has what it takes to go down as one of the best wingers in history.
