FC Bayern Women got 2025 off to a winning start as they beat Young Boys Women 7-0 in their mid-season friendly in Seville. Alara Sehitler, Pernille Harder (two) and Georgia Stanway ensured a comfortable 4-0 half-time lead, before Linda Dallmann, Lea Schüller and Laila Portella added further gloss in the second period.

Giulia Gwinn sat the game out with a cold, while Luzie Zähringer missed out with a slight ankle problem. Momoko Tanikawa and Sarah Zadrazil also watched on due to muscular issues, with Magdalena Eriksson not used after taking a knock in the morning’s activation session. There was good news, though, as goalkeeper Mala Grohs played the second half in her first game since the discovery of a cancerous tumour in October.
Bayern dominated and controlled the game from the start. It took just 11 minutes for the first big chance when Sydney Lohmann laid the ball off to Sehitler to put away. A few moments later, Harder took advantage of a Young Boys mistake to slot in the second. She also grabbed the third of the afternoon as she headed in Tuva Hansen’s cross. Stanway then added the fourth with a first-time finish from a corner.
Glodis Viggósdóttir captained Bayern in the friendly.
Alexander Straus made seven changes to the team for the second half, with only Stanway, Julia Zigiotti Olme, Glodis Viggósdóttir and Hansen staying out there. Again, it didn’t take long for the Munich Frauen to strike as Dallmann collected a pass from Klara Bühl, beat a defender and then put away into the bottom left corner. The Swiss side struggled to get to grips and conceded a sixth when Schüller put away Bühl’s delivery on the hour mark. Substitute youth player Portella rounded things off with a seventh in the closing minutes.
Bayern’s next match sees a return to competitive action for 2025 as they visit RB Leipzig in the Google Pixel Bundesliga on Sunday, 2 February (6.30pm CET). The following Sunday brings another away trip against Hoffenheim (2pm).
