FC Cincinnati defeated Sporting Kansas City 2-1 in front of 25,513 fans at TQL Stadium. With the win, the Orange and Blue notched their fifth straight victory, reaching 22 points and taking sole possession of first place in the Eastern Conference before the rest of the weekend’s Round 10 matches. In the 43rd minute, after Cincinnati regained possession and worked a play down the left side with Evander and Lukas Engel, Denkey capitalized on a rebound off goalkeeper Pulskamp and hammered it home with his first touch to provide his team with an opening goal.

In the second half, in the 78th minute, Denkey was impressive again. After a corner kick by Luca Orellano that was half-cleared by defense, Orellano recovered the ball near the corner flag. Sporting Kansas City scores late but misses the target

Sporting Kansas City came back in the 89th minute. After a quick attacking series, Andrew Brody and Erik Thommy passed the ball back and forth to find Zorhan Bassong, who hit a strong shot into the goal to narrow the deficit.
