Tosin Adarabioyo is becoming a bit of a goal machine. After smashing in two from range in his last start for the Blues, he scored his latest (his fourth of the season in all competitions) from close range against Wolves on Monday night.
He spoke very modestly to the club’s official website about the effort:
‘It’s my fourth goal of the season and my first Premier League goal for Chelsea, so I’m very happy. When I got the ball I managed to get it down and saw I was one-on-one with the keeper, so I just thought to slot it home,” the former Fulham defender said.
“I was pretty confident I still had a defender lurking behind me. I’m not sure how tight it actually was but I had a feeling I was onside and I was very happy to contribute with a goal. It’s definitely good to contribute to the goals and we need to do that all over the pitch. Goals are goals at the end of the day, even if you get the scummy ones it’s always a good feeling!”

Tosin was also asked about his partner on the night, the returning Trevoh Chalobah who stepped into the team just after his recall:
“He came straight back in, fit in fantastically and did an amazing job. He managed to do everything absolutely flawless tactically, so I’m very happy for him.”
The pair of them could end up forming our regular partnership at the back a few times this season, so it’s great to see them have an instant connection. Trevoh’s calming and confident presence definitely seemed to help the sometimes skittish Tosin settle down and play well.
