The Brazilian midfielder, who is on loan from Juventus, admitted that his side approached the game with determination, always aiming to secure a victory regardless of the opponent.

However, facing Real Madrid at the Bernabeu is a challenge in itself, especially against a side that exudes confidence. Despite the loss, Girona maintained their approach of playing with respect while still striving to compete at the highest level.

“Every game we play we try to do our best and we always want to win. But you’re playing against Madrid at the Bernabeu, for me the best team in the world and with a lot of confidence.

“Although playing against whoever we are going to look for the victory with a lot of respect,” he said as quoted by SPORT.

This was only Arthur’s second appearance for Girona, having previously played 22 minutes against Getafe before getting 35 minutes on the pitch against Real Madrid.

His experience in midfield allowed him to observe the game closely, and he particularly pointed out the opening goal by Luka Modric.

Arthur recognised the brilliance of Modric’s goal, stating that certain moments in football simply cannot be defended against.

It was an individual moment of high technical quality that left no room for tactical adjustments. The Girona player was impressed by the execution and did not hesitate to acknowledge the Croatian’s excellence after the match.

“It was a brilliant play. There’s nothing you can do; no tactic can defend against that. I congratulated him after the game for scoring such a spectacular goal. It was a high-quality display,” he said.
