Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has explained how Southampton have changed under their new manager Ivan Jurić.

The Croatian replaced Russell Martin at the helm last month and has overseen narrow defeats to West Ham and Crystal Palace in his first two matches.

"I've watched the two games they have played under the new manager Ivan Jurić and they have changed a bit," said Frank.

"They don't take as many risks when they are building up. They go longer sometimes to [Paul] Onuachu up top, who is a handful.

“They went from being 15th to second for crosses, on average; there are a few tactical tweaks that we need to be aware of.

“It’s a good team. I know they are bottom of the league but nothing is easy in the Premier League, we know that.

"I have big respect for Southampton. We need to bring our 'A' game and be unbelievably focused but, if we are, I believe we can get the three points."

The Saints are 10 points from safety ahead of Saturday's fixture against Brentford at St Mary's Stadium.

"They will win games before the end of the season, we just need to make sure we have done our part to avoid that happening against us," Frank added.

"It's the third game under a new manager and they're at home. With our away form, they will see it as a must-win game for getting out of the relegation battle. I'm very aware of that."
